Advancing Open Government through Digital Governance in Southeast Asia 2025 2026.07.02 오후 5:47:22Admin

Harnessing digital tools and AI to enhance transparency, citizen participation and trust in government across Southeast Asia

The OECD Korea Policy Centre (KPC), in collaboration with the OECD Open Government Unit, hosted the side session "Advancing Open Government through Digital Governance in Southeast Asia" on 7 October 2025, as part of the 2025 Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit.

The 2025 OGP Global Summit was hosted by the Government of Spain in Vitoria-Gasteiz from 7 to 9 October 2025, gathering around 2,000 participants from governments, civil society and partner institutions around the world. Within this broader Summit programme, the KPC organised and operated one of the side sessions, dedicated to open government in Southeast Asia.

The side session demonstrated how innovative digital tools, including AI, can enhance transparency, citizen participation and trust towards government. Participants engaged in interactive discussions and shared their experiences of open government initiatives leading to better public services. Delegates from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand joined representatives from the OECD and partner organisations to exchange perspectives on digital governance and open government in the region.

By fostering peer learning, the session helped build connections among stakeholders and strengthen the region's efforts towards government innovation. Attendees also had the opportunity to connect with peers from across the region and explore ways to collaborate to foster open government practices, laying the groundwork for continued regional cooperation on open government in Southeast Asia.
